jdmidwest Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 Nothing beats a Bunn. Cranks it out fast and good. More than one sip at a time...... Terrierman and Daryk Campbell Sr 2 "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
Deadstream Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 Had a cup after supper. Wide Awake. Good Stuff...
Terrierman Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 The coffee is a lot more important than what pot it's brewed in. We buy whole bean coffee at Lucky's Market for $7.99/lb. Grind medium fine for each pot with a Capresso burr grinder. Burr grinders give a consistent size to the grounds, unlike those mini blenders. Tend to buy more Colombian than others, but get some Jamaica Blue Mountain and Kona too for a little change in flavor.

Fresh ground 8 O'clock is tough to beat. Terrierman 1
Terrierman Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 Takes no extra time for me. It's grinding while I'm rinsing and filling the pot and getting the basket ready. We drink a lot of coffee. And lately, more tea too. snagged in outlet 3 and Gavin 2
ness Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 Did a tour of a large local coffee seller last year about this time. Part of the deal was to demo the same coffee, same grind, ground in front of us, same water, same temp (I think) in a pour over and also in a French press. The difference was quite noticeable, which was the point of their demonstration. French press won for us -- the pour over was more oily. We grind up enough for the week on Sunday nights and do drip coffee each morning with that. On a timer, just one less thing to do. On the weekend we do a little courser grind in a French press. We tend to like the lighter roasts. Roasterie Guatemalan is our fave. Terrierman 1 John
fishinwrench Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 My tastes are not very Regal. I prefer coffee black, I throw some sugar in it, and if it tastes ok to me at the time, I drink it.

It will be convenient when less than a full pot is wanted, even more so now, given the kettle that Lovey bought. That thing is FAST.
