Some very interesting information on here from data collected by Google.  You can scroll down for each country and see data for different regions/states/counties

Speaking of South Korea and their containment success, look at some of the other Asian countries...

Japan with a population of 235 million and some of the most congested living space in world has only 69 deaths.

South Korea with a population of 53 million with only 177 deaths.

Taiwan with a population of 23 million (right next to China) with only 5 deaths

We need to look more closely at their game plans.

Unfortunately I spend too much of my time discussing COVID and containment over the last few weeks as my team(not me) is ”essential” and they are delivering to the hospitals in NYC, Detroit, Chicago, etc.  This thing is no joke.  Big cities with dense populations will be worse due to difficulties in containment.  For Korea, Vietnam, etc., this is not their first rodeo, and they took CONTAINMENT seriously from the get go due to their life experience with SARS and a few other bugs.  THAT is why they have been successful.  All actions and restrictions have been data driven and are not the result of someone yanking something out their backside...we all need to take them seriously.  Unfortunately, in the US Too many rolks(especially young people) are not.  I only wish I lived closer to my favorite fishing holes....my fly boxes are overflowing and I’m getting the DTs.

I've read that in S Korea it was common for people to walk around in public masked prior to this virus outbreak. They had sufficient masks for the population and their government did not lie to them about the benefit of wearing a mask as our Surgeon General and CDC did. As a general thing the Asian peoples have a greater tendency to follow instructions or comply with directives than western cultures as well. So, really it should be no surprise that they did better at containment of SARS-CoV-2  than we have in the USA where  we are told not to mask by our leaders. And where every one who is not an expert telling others what do  is a rebel who will not comply on principle.

On our weekly trip for supplies I noticed something. Had to hit three places to get all we wanted/needed. Things in stores had somewhat settled down to being able to find more in the grocery store but since the statewide stay in in here (Missouri) it got out of sorts again. More empty shelves, no butter for one thing. People were much more cautious in the distance thing. One lady in an isle pacing back and forth people behind her and in front. Confused in what to do. We were caught in the same place. I said come right through here past us I'll hold my breath. She did and I could literally see the fear in her eyes.

Then two good things that I (We) needed. One was after we walked in a trail around a county lake we went buy the place where my mom is in assisted living. She has some dementia and this place really takes good care of her. They are on total lockdown due to the ages of all the seniors in there. No one in or out other than staff. We went by her window. Her curtains were drawn tight. I called her on the phone and said look outside. Oh my gosh she lit up. Ha we had a good visit through the window. She and all the others in there have been in the dumps. Next on last stop before we went home ran into an old friend or should I say a young friend I have known a long time. I worked with his grandfather when this kid was ten. What a fine man he has become and he has always stopped to ask how we were doing. He had just been appointed to fire chief in town. His first week hit with three fires and now this virus. You could see the stress on his face but he is stepping up to the plate and it felt good to hear him tell me what he is and going to do. Before we parted said Marty you know if you need anything let me know. I feel good about the future with people like this.

Well Done!!!

Want a little more protection under those... Put some gauze in there! or a cut up old sock...

But you get the point... If everyone wears a mask:

  • First and most importantly: You will reduce the viral load you may get!! Thats important and I can't stress the importance of that enough... Folks that get a heavy Viral load have bad outcomes. IE: Dirt Nap
  • Second it it slows the spread and flattens the curve!!!!!... and keeps our hospitals from getting overwhelmed with Potential Dirt Nappers...

This Is Where The World Is On The "Corona Curve" At This Moment

Two weeks ago, we wrote that with 1.7 billion people in the world under quarantine (a number which has since ballooned to over 3 billion) and "desperate to find out where on the coronavirus "curve" they are to calculate how much more pain there is, JPM made an attempt at a (very nonscientific) visual representation of where on the curve the main covid outbreaks in the world currently stand." Additionally, this is how we laid out the good/not so good/bad news.................................https://www.zerohedge.com/health/where-world-corona-curve-moment

Hey My crafty sister is making us a mask. Washable with hvac filter material we can take in and out. I asked if we could pick our material. She said no it is a surprise, uh oh no telling what I will be wearing in public 😲🤣

Lovey is getting ready to fabricate some masks from the brightly colored microfiber towels I keep around for fish grabbing.  They are in the washing machine right now.  😎  Cannot begin to imagine where she found the elastic that she did.  She is not a sewing person.
