Big plastic funnel attached to the bottom of a bucket slightly bigger than a chicken's body, the bucket's bottom removed.

I hear ya..My mom loves a rooster bullet too.

a fried egg in her Heart Healthy Butter (Smart Balance) she eats like a bird so it makes me feel good to see her enjoy her breakfast... Between an egg or her Smuckers PB&J uncrustables I can get her to eat that.

If you are having trouble getting protein intake for your Mom, try Ensure or Boost or If you need real high protein try

She doesn't like the Boost stuff, gotta admit I am not fond of it either, during my transplant they reccomend it, blech, tried warm, cold and the only way I could stand it was mixed with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.  Mom will drink a little of it, whatever she gets is still good.

These are pretty good, but I feel like they're pretty pricy.

My wife bought me a black silkie for our anniversary a few years back. She didn't want to get me any fishing gear. Since we had a decent flock of chickens already, having another was not going to be a problem.

Wooly Bugger (2).jpg

So I called her Wooly Bugger :=D:. Had her for a couple of years. Broodiest chicken that we have ever had. She got killed by a coon one night. The coons took a beating after that night for sure. Used to trap them and release several miles away. After Wooly was killed, they all got a short trip to the end of the driveway for the trash man to pick up. I love the fact that silkies have that extra toe on each foot.

Yelp I got rid of my Chickens and Rabbits because of Dogs around here.

Me and my wife decided not to have animals that tie us down.

A few observations for lockdown:

1. Pre Schools are worth their weight in gold.

2. Dishwashers and trash cans are  working overtime.

3. Husbands and wives argue over who does the most work around the house.

4. A trip to the gas station feels like a vacation.

5. You can only watch Frozen 2 so many times.

I would like to add another to the list:

6. iPhone facial recognition no longer works with an N-95 face mask 😷

In the five years that we had chickens in Columbia, we had two chickens walk off and not get back into the coop in the evening. They never came back. Wooley was the only one that was killed by a critter while in the chicken yard/coop area. After her demise I had put a security bar on their door that kept everything out once it was closed. The door that we got to the egg boxes had bolts that would hold it closed. The roof to the coop overhung the walls so it would take a desperate and acrobatic coon to get to the fencing at the top of the coop.

With my wife working from home now, I can no longer tell her I was working on honey-dos when I was on the river all day.

She got notification this morning it will be an additional 30-60 days at home.

Bummer on both counts!

I couldn't stand Boost at first...but i've gotten a taste for it (Strawberry and Choc.).... My Mom would have that every meal if given the opportunity...We watch her protein, salt and sugar intake so we limit that to 1 a day... She likes that before bed....Its a big ole dance between her Kidneys, heart, and liver.

Stick Boost in the freezer for a 10-15 min and it gets like a shake
