N9BOW Posted March 22, 2020 Author Posted March 22, 2020 Picked up my fuel tonight and some extra propane tanks to make sure I can feed all that I have responsibility for.. Just need to get some charcoal and I can go full recluse! The sad part was; the Kid at the gas station looked at me side ways as I paid for 3 PP Tanks and $75 bucks worth of fuel while donning my mask... Told Him I'm not wearing this to protect me from you, but to protect you from me as my Son; works in a Supermarket and is exposed to thousands of people every day not wearing masks all the while we have community spread in our county HIS REPLY.... I'm Young....I do just fine....

But, the idiots that operate our local Public Water Supply decided that tomorrow would be a good day to break the line and do a repair or upgrade leaving us with a boil water order. Been a hassle finding bottle water to keep onhand until its safe to drink again. Thanks Public Servants, fcking morons. jdmidwest Posted March 23, 2020 Posted March 23, 2020 Boiled water takes effort and utilities. Easier to find bottle water, normally. Few gallons and a few bottles to get by for coffee and drinking. I have a filter on the Kitchen sink because the water purity seems to be defective most of the time. I wonder about its capability sometimes. A few weeks back I called them when I flushed the toilet and muddy water came out. May be what they are trying to fix. They will not issue a boil water order normally, too many C Stores on the system that rely on the fountain drinks. Bad for business for them. Bad for us if you rely on water purity. Its a poorly run system that I pay over 50 bucks for a month for 2 people. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson

Nahhh...it has to do with staying in and staying home as much as possible moving forward. I think this is a good thing to plan on doing...So I'm doing it. AND... just in case yellowstone decide to burp or fart https://www.nationalgeographic.com/news/2011/1/110119-yellowstone-park-supervolcano-eruption-magma-science/... Wouldnt that be the icing on the cake? Been lots of quakes and lots of rumbling along the ring of fire for the last 2 years.. + were in a solar minimum which causes magnetic changes that could be contributing to the changes in the molten core..... ....JUST SAYIN. Thats why I do this crap...I'm a paranoid kinda guy. I can multi-task on all sorts of crap that may or may not happen in my mind (So I prepare for any scenario) .........and Love life and live it to its fullest All The Time even when SHTF! BTW - I was the only one doing this today (pumps were empty)....TOMORROW WHO KNOWS...... but I wont have to be there in the trenches with all the other late comers when they decide they need gas and need it now. Social Distancing was easy today on a snowy Sunday....PLUS I got to get outside even if it was just for gas JestersHK, wily and Terrierman 3
JestersHK Posted March 23, 2020 Posted March 23, 2020 Eric I'm glad you are prepared buddy. Everyone take note here... I've been slammed with work trying to get remote patient screening apps on iPads and networks shored up for the hospitals but figured I'd give you all an update. At first I was a bit skeptical about all this, then I started seeing the panic and fear on the folks at work. Then we're all sent home as they took over our conference rooms for doctors and medical staff and we had a sick team member get tested which I'm still awaiting to hear the results on. I've watched the run on TP, food, guns, ammo, cleaning supplies and worry about the just in time supply chain. My friends a Captain in the Guard and the calls have started going out at his level. There's no orders yet but he feels it's inevitable before his troops get mobilized. I still believe we are just getting started with this thing and the outcomes could likely get real ugly. Please take care out there everyone. If you have to go out wear whatever PPE you have and DECON yourself when you get home. Lots of good info on this in the web. Do this for our hospital staff and workers, do it for our first responders like my poor nephew whose a paramedic, please practice common sense and wash your hands. N9BOW and WoundedOne 2
