fishinwrench Posted May 18, 2020 Posted May 18, 2020 I've made my peace with chiggers after last year's OAK MITE hatch. Those are the most miserable basturds on the planet, bar none. I'll take chiggers and be happy from now on. BilletHead 1

Oh great, WTF is a buffalo gnat? 😲 I lived 53 years without being introduced to Oak Mites, and now there are Buffalo gnats? What is causing all of these new alien parasite invasions?

Bites all over my face and head before I could get to the truck. I was in my pond prowler so irt took a while to get here. I got my first bite Saturday by one. On the neck next to my adams apple. I have a knot the size of a half dollar still today. I put the head net back in the boat. Some people have a bigger reaction to them than others and that's me. They look like a gnat only bigger and they have a hard shell like body.

fishinwrench Posted May 18, 2020 Posted May 18, 2020 Looks like what I call a "sweat bee". I've never been overly bothered by them if that's what we're talking about.
