Bill, Does that include trolling motor?

Bobby

Yes Bobby it does, that force trolling motor is at the present time unequaled.   I just have had issues with my Ultrex and I knew I would.  Nothing at all wrong with the motor in the least, I'm just fussy about noise and used to something quieter and better as far as GPS and position lock that does not weigh a ton.

The Ulterra is so nice with the deploy and retract feature that for us mature fishermen,  is not only a safety feature but a huge factor in just not having to work so hard.  I just love mine on my trout boat.  It however will not work without some serious modification with the panoptics as its lift feature gets in the way.  There is a company Precision Sonar that does make a panoptics mount for the Ulterra and I have been trying to get in touch with them and see what it consists of.

With Garmin the look ahead technology has been around for several years and keeps improving  As far as side scan, their GT34 UHD transducer, side view is an industry changer.  When this is paired on the console with the 126sv, that is state of the art and currently as good as it gets, for us fresh water bass or crappie fishing dudes.

That set up makes total zero sense.  First you are using a Minn Kota Ultrex that has a built in transducer for Humminbird so you would have to wire a Lowrance transducer for picture quality to the head making your Minn Kota transducer void.  It will work with the Lowrance but poorly. Next Humminbird recommends 3 to 10 mph for side view and the Ulterx will not run that fast, 2.6 to 2.8 mph is max.

Next, side view technology is not fishing tech, it is searching technology.  It is designed to cover large amounts of water at a rapid pace and determine either structure or fish that can be marked and then with the use of sonar or livescope be more accurately defined and fished.

On another note, there are fishermen out this morning in the rain, sleet and Ice.  First boat I saw this morning was headed up Long Creek, temp was 31 and it was rain/sleet mix.  Second was a bit ago, headed the same way, really raining and Icing and 34 degree.

Youth is a wonderful thing.

Good point - I cannot see a need for SI on the bow but rather 2D/DI/SI on the console and then 2D/DI and/or Live Scope on the bow - do you agree?

I called today and got lucky and they called me back pretty quickly.  Here is the mount and a video how to install and how it works.  Cost - $289.  What do you think.

That pic is one of Jacob Wheelers boat i saw on instagram.  That kid has made a ton of money and most of it because how good he is with his graphs.  I also think if you know how to use the Humminbird 360 it is probably awesome, i just think it is difficult for normal people like me to fully grasp.   A lot of very successful pros love their 360's.

It is pretty great we live in the day and age we have all these gadgets to choose from. Really hard to go wrong with any of them, just depends on style of fishing, and personal preference

Hummingbird Gen 3 are the mega units. Go to Cabelas or bass pro or any where that sells all the name brands, see for yourself the quality difference then make up your mind. Good luck
