Are you using a full sized grease gun that takes the big tubes? I'm using a little gun that takes the oversized toothpaste looking tubes. It's kind of a short stroker and a few squeezes is needed.  Real low pressure. Not sure if it is true or not but I was warned if you use a full sized gun and pump hard that you can damage the bearing seal. Anyone else know that this is true or not? I'd like to know. Grease cheaper in bigger tubes.

They told me not use a full size pump and they gave me this one.   https://www.amazon.com/Plews-30-195-Jiffy-Luber-Grease/dp/B000XBHSTC/ref=asc_df_B000XBHSTC/?tag=bingshoppinga-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=&hvpos=&hvnetw=o&hvrand=&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=e&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=&hvtargid=pla-4584207577685453&psc=1

Grease goes in white and comes out white.   Some low life stole it out of boat in Arkansas in October.

I always have a few drops of water come out and it stops around 10 pumps. I may have a little bit of a seal leak though as my motor is up around the 400 hour mark. Not sure what seal life is on a jet unit. Seems my jets have always been like that though. Grease is cheap so I fill it till all water is purged.

The 2-4C grease is recommended by Outboard jets, not Mercury. I figure the people who engineered these jet kits probably have their reasoning for it. Also looks like Lubriplate 630-2 is recommended as well.

I've never had a drop of water...   But I'll keep that in mind.  Thx!

Get the impeller sharpened every now and then. Adjust the spacer washers accordingly. Never start a jet in less than a foot of water unless you have no choice. Always carry something to pry the rocks out of the grate. One Little Rock screws up the proper vortex and diminishes the performance greatly. Keep the motor peeing good too.

You definitely do NOT want to use a regular grease gun, you need a low pressure one or you could blow the seals

Fake news. 🙄

I suppose if the bearing had already grenaded and a piece of it got stuck in the relief hole or plugged the relief hose....then MAYBE if you stomped on the grease gun with both feet at the same time you MIGHT budge the seal.  But at that point who cares?  😅

So bottom line......if it blows the seal out....GOOD....cuz the seal is gonna have to come out anyway.
