MOPanfisher Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 Just got results from MRI, good news is there doesn't appear to be any tearing etc.of the rotator cuff. Bad news what they did find is a large lesion on the humerous, related to my Multiple Myeloma. So no surgery can fix it, now I guess onto the next step which is a referral from my oncologist in spfld to an Osteopathic Oncologist, likely in KC where I had my Bone Marrow Transplant. No clue at all how this is gonna work out with all the shut down for COVID 19, effing disease is gonna get me one way or the other it seems. Sorry just a little bit "down" at the moment. Terrierman Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 I was really sorry to read this post., I just had a flash on the future though. It was a little foggy but pretty sure there were parts involving PDT fishing, catching and a bit about going out to pick up some woman's deer for her. Get well. You got to. jdmidwest Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 I know what the Oncologist is normally. How long have you been out? What was your treatment regime? Hang in there, fishing is tough right now anyway. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
ness Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 Well, so sorry to hear that. Best of luck to you as you work through this. Educate yourself, advocate for yourself, be a little pushy if needed but keep the doctors and nurses and staff on your side and loving you. They can do amazing things, as you know, but sometimes need to be nudged a bit. You’re on the prayer list. Check your PM. John

Hang in there, fishing is tough right now anyway. It was almost 5 years ago that I had my Bone Marrow Transplant. My wife is the pushy, cute, annoying and obnoxious nurse/advocate. Ono logistics in SPFLD was talking about doing some spot radiation on the spot they found on a rib next to my spine. Not sure what will be the direction now. Anything g they can.do to alleviate the shoulder pain would be a good start but all that remains to be seen at this point. Hell I may be all used up and not smart enough to know it yet. But I plan on a few more crappie trips etc. before I am done. This COVID 19 virus is going to throw a monkey wrench inot things I suspect.
Gavin Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 Ouch, that’s discouraging. Stay strong, you will whip it!
jdmidwest Posted March 25, 2020 Posted March 25, 2020 Covid is going to be in another side of the hospital, the ER and ICU, don't sweat it. Get the treatment and get better. They will isolate you. Wash your hands and keep clear of others with a fever. And above all, keep the faith.
