It's about is fine, good or ok good enough, if so there you go. Bill you are right in using the binocular example. We have heard for years and years that you should buy the best quality optics that you can afford. If that is Bushnell, at that time them go ahead and buy them or wait until you can get the money together to buy the Swarovski's. vernon and liphunter 2
liphunter Posted May 1, 2020 Posted May 1, 2020 I think it's the application that you use it for. For me a 9 inch is just fine. Just a so so angler who just loves to catch fish as a passionate hobby . And fine is good enough. If I was a guide and that's how I made my living at it. It would be an an investment in my business. I would have a big screen on the bow! BTW, I never turned down a lady for being fine!😁 vernon, mixermarkb and bfishn 3 Luck is where preparation meets opportunity...... Or you could just flip a coin???
vernon Posted May 1, 2020 Posted May 1, 2020 I like to say the only money wasted is money never spent and I've always believed that. Problem is now that I'm "on the fixed income" I don't have near as much to blow! If I was still working I guarantee I'd have that Garmin setup front and back and am still kicking myself for not having it installed on my boat when I bought it four years ago. I was shopping for my current boat and the Panoptix had just come out. I was at the dealership where I'd bought my previous boat at LOZ and the guy that owned the place was showing it to me and said, "I'd obviously really like to sell you another boat but I'm telling you if you end up buying elsewhere you've absolutely GOT to insist that this is the electronics setup it has. This is the most amazing thing to come out in forever and you'll kick yourself if you settle for anything else." Well, I didn't listen and he was right. In fact my leg is getting tired.🤦♂️ liphunter and mixermarkb 2 "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups." George Carlin "The only money ever wasted is money never spent." Me.

Probably not.

And mused about what I might see with a pair of Swarovski's that I was missing with the Nikons. Heck I don't know enough about birds to tell the difference anyway. I know they're better. But probably wasted on a guy like me.

3DHUSKER Posted May 1, 2020 Posted May 1, 2020 I spent a lot of money in shooting sports and on glass for shooting over a mile. I will just say this. Just because it is real expensive doesn't mean it is better. With glass you get to a certain price point and you get no more value for your money. That is another topic. With any luck I will go out with about the same money I came in with. Told the kids good luck, make smart choices because I not leaving you much. I made it and I am spending it. vernon, liphunter and Terrierman 2 1
