Which is something to consider.  You can get racked up on some serious charges if you get caught dispatching somebodies cat or dog.  Had a guy here in Bella Vista that was charged with felony animal abuse for shooting a neighbors dog with a pellet gun.

Dose that dog with pure skunk extract enough times and the people will get rid of it. Just a couple drops at a time, dogs love smelling nice. https://www.wildlifecontrolsupplies.com/animal/WCSSKUNK.html

It's a Daisy!! Shoots round balls. Major upgrade of the Red Ryder.  Possibly the ultimate in stealth shooting.

Rubbers degrade too fast on those.  Don't know what the Chinards use on those now, but I can't get them to last on the shelf or in the truck very long.  When I grab one, I get a broken sling.

As a kid, I had the Wrist Rocket, like the B52 but fixed brace.  I was deadly with it.  Killed a big cottonmouth on the other bank across the creek one time.  But those two, the rubbers don't last long.

I loved my wrist rocket and since we owned a bicycle shop we had an unlimited supply of free ball bearings....:D

well, shoot I'm back to the shoe string and boot tongue then, I used to take birds down with homemade slings. I'm at an age now where acting like a child is acceptable again, (not sure they'll let me play with a pellet gun though; "you'll shoot your eye out") . Surgical tubing was the original source of the  Daisy rubbers, someone  got  hold of  some and we made some longer catapults with heavy wire twisted for the braces. I never did find out how they used that in surgery, probably been replaced with a laser.

Granddad used to call them bean flips, I still have his homemade ones from the 20-30s.  Crotch of a tree, tanned leather.  They would shoot dried beans or pebbles, beans were more accurate he said.  His homestead is still in the mountains just North of Turners Bend in the National forest.  He won Grandma from Champ Turner... Mulberry river legend.  Grandmas Dad mountain is called Stevens mountain, Bee Rock on the Pig Trail he started.  My Great Granddad, John Stevens was on the Art Linkletter show

They gave him a washing machine, radio etc.  He told them he had no power, they laughed. This was in the 50's.  I have a windup mantel clock that they gave him and it is a cherished  possession.

What were those things that had the 3ft. straps and a pouch to put a rock in, you swung it around either sideways or over your head and then let one side go?   Was it just called a "sling"?

My brother made one and he actually got pretty good with it.  He was trying to teach me how to use it and I hit the side of Mom's terquoise Chrysler New Yorker with a rock the size of my fist.  BLAM!!!!

She came running out of the house ready to lop both of our heads off, ran over to inspect the damage.....not even a friggin scratch.   Boy they knew how to build cars back then.  That car was a TANK!

Sling or sling shot, those fork sticks were catapults and the bean shooter was made with clothes pins. 3' is too long for you sling  strings though that should about make both strings, one longer for securing to your finger and a shorter one  for release. We also made a rock thrower from a corn stalk by hollowing out a pocket in one end and swinging it like an atlatl, stop like a fly rod and the rock would sing through the air. I was a heck of a rock thrower with all of them and my hands too. You can stun a rooster by hitting it's head or apply more speed and dispatch him  and you can flop a cotton tail right over. Rocks are deadly weapons and should be banned. Those  catapults with the surgical tubing and a 3/8'' ball are dangerous too.
