oneshot Posted July 3, 2020 Posted July 3, 2020 I know they are for safety but people wearing them you can’t read their lips. If they talk to me I just ignore them because I have no idea what they say. Had a woman talking to me the other day at the Hospital. Told her it didn’t do her any good talking to me because I couldn’t read her lips. oneshot tjm 1

fishinwrench Posted July 4, 2020 Posted July 4, 2020 My wife's aunt, who loves to argue religion with me, said the same thing about their Baptist preacher. I said, it doesn't matter because you have obviously been misunderstanding him all along anyway. 😂 5 of the 6 people in the room at the time, nearly fell to the floor. Checkmate, ya old hag! 😇 rps and tho1mas 2

tjm Posted July 4, 2020 Posted July 4, 2020 Not many around this area wearing masks, there are those that wear mask when in the car by them selves. Guess they are keeping the spit off the windshield.
MOPanfisher Posted July 4, 2020 Posted July 4, 2020 Kind of like wearing sunglasses or a hard hat in some ways, if yu wear it all the time it's just habit. I am one of the worst about wearing a mask, I do it when I have to. Hard hats, wore them enough I would get into vehicle and bang it into the door frame and curse, just felt weird going without it. Same for sunglasses, walk into a room and wonder why it was so dark, duh! Wear your mask, don't wear your mask, partially wear your mask whatever makes you happy. I prefer to just avoid people when I can. rps 1
Terrierman Posted July 4, 2020 Posted July 4, 2020 We went to Springfield Farmer Market this morning. I'd estimate maybe 60% of patrons and about the same for sellers had masks on. We only patronize places that respect us enough to put on a mask. People were mostly good about respecting other people's space. It's getting better out there, but still not perfect. The weirdest thing was several couples had one person wearing mask, the other not. Still trying to figure that one out. Daryk Campbell Sr and rps 2
oneshot Posted July 4, 2020 Author Posted July 4, 2020 Seems several don’t cover their nose. Even the News several wear Masks. Bet people were wondering this Spring me wearing Masks outside. I do every year because of pollen. oneshot
tjm Posted July 4, 2020 Posted July 4, 2020 If you respect me enough to stay at a distance, my wearing of a mask won't protect either of us, if you want to crowd me you are the problem not the mask. Oneshot is right most people wearing a fashion mask don't even get full coverage, but they meet the fashion. I'm waiting for the "Mini-mask" to come out, it will just cover the chin and stick there without ear loops. It will keep people from having to pull the mask down to talk at you. I was in a fast food joint in AR last week for the first time in months and all the cashiers had fashion masks on but none of the food handlers did, most of the food handlers didn't even have their hair covered for that matter. At the fireworks display in OK last night I saw two fashion masks. I guess a couple thousand bare faces. 3 hours ago, Terrierman said: The weirdest thing was several couples had one person wearing mask, the other not. One without believes in the science of spit and gravity, one with believes germs are as big as house flies and will be stopped a screen. I have worn my hard hat into restaurants and fishing, I was unaware of it if someone didn't point it out, but the other day I witnessed a young lady putting a mask on after she was in the car alone and then she drove off, see them at stoplights wearing the fashion mask all alone in their car.
oneshot 1 Posted July 5, 2020 Posted July 5, 2020 Really is this a Republican vs. Democrat thing? This was the July 4 Parade down the road from us https://www.ky3.com/content/news/Marshfield-celebrates-with-141st-Independence-Day-Parade--571632151.html Church had its Fireworks Show last Sunday. It is the biggest show in the area. Well a Guy that already knew he was Positive for Covid - 19 came to watch the Fireworks. This is the kind of stupidity that causes problems. Couple counties over has 0 Positive Cases so what do they do, they have big Stock Car Race and Fireworks Show. Seems like for the most part people are saying this isn't that serious. oneshot
