Wakes produced out away from the bank get larger as they approach the shoreline and collide with other wakes that are bouncing back.  We call it the washing machine effect.   To lay the blame of all that on one particular boat is something that courts just won't do.....and anyone with half a brain wouldn't let it happen if the courts even tried to.     

Sure there might be an instance where a boat comes plowing into a perfectly serene Golden Pond causing a destructive wake,  someone just happens to get it all on video, and the video is clear enough to easily see the registration numbers, and clear enough to identify the driver.  And it also captures things breaking under the stress of said wake.  That guy probably WILL need a lawyer, and that lawyer will challenge the quality and value of whatever got broken.    It's a stupid game.

Here on LO people set up camera's all the time trying to get people busted for wake violations.   They are wasting their time.  And so are we, even discussing it.   😅

Boy it hurts to agree with FW (😆), but the law that says you are liable for wakes and rhe reality of seeing a prosecution are world's apart.  I remember lots of squished fingers, boats put in stalls wrong and swamping  when waves broke over the stern etc. long before there were wake boats..

My personal opinion is just ride the wave or go someplace else. it's their lake too. isn't there a way to protect the docks from damage? what happens during storms?

I don't own a dock or a wake boat so i don't have a dog in the fight.

Not really, but you can protect your investment.  It's called "insurance".

I always felt a lake like Table Rock with main lake sections that don't have as many docks (for instance down close to the old boy scout camp) would be good for a  "wake boat zone." They can just plow through those areas and ramp and cove areas would be off limits.

I agree with Gary, it’s their lake too. I wish everyone would be more considerate of their fellow citizens, and operate their toys to that end, but honestly, If I choose to fish main lake points in the summer at LOZ, I know what I’m getting into.

Yes sir, and I am only found on LOZ Sun eve - Fri am.  Sat and Sun are for chores.  Let them people have it...

I agree...complaining about other people on the lake...is like bitching about a public golf course being too crowded 

but I do respect Terrierman...his sentiments are exactly why I only play golf a couple times a year
