Can’t see the adipose fin area but it looks to be snipped. Probably a triploid. Doesn’t look like Frank.

What a shame. Hopefully it died of natural causes. 

I guess if someone caught it recently and then tried to release it we would have heard about it and there surely would have been pictures.

I went on a rant once about biologists clipping fins, and somebody, supposedly connected with MDC in some way, got on here and ripped into me big-time, claiming that nobody from MDC ever clipped fishes fins off.   

Does anyone, by chance, remember that?

I don't recall this, but the hatchery manager at sheppard told me in 05 that they had been  doing a 4 year rotation of fin clips on brown trout for the past 12 years. That's how he knew at a glance that my fish was at least 12 years old. Maybe they do not consider hatchery people as MDC.
