Flat bottom jet trip report

Recommended Posts

I got tired of picky trout on Taney so popped my jet boat in TR, clevenger cove.  Cloudy, breezy, trout fishing equipment, No electronics, no idea of what to do so looked at the pinned fishing maps and hit the first spot with a spook puppy tied to an ultralight trout rod.  I dug through my stuff and found the puppy so tied it on.  Shad were flipping around but no action.  Hit the second spot on the main lake and caught this one.   Boat traffic got to me so headed back into the cove.  Gonna try tomorrow AM too.  I found I have some drop shot stuff and the puppy.

Rooster tail, small crankbait, or a soft plastic can always drum up something.

Even on my yak, I carry a light action rod and a medium action rod.  I can toss most anything to catch a fish.

I went back Thursday morning.  Cloudy breezy and I thought it was perfect conditions.  Waited at the ramp until It got light enough to takeoff.  Threw the top water, a swim bait, a bunch of different color drop shots and  even a marabou jig.  I only caught one small smallie.   Lots of boats and lots of guide boats in the areas I was fishing.   I never saw anyone catch anything.   No surface activity either.  Quit around 10 with my tail between my legs😂
