Man are the flying predators out this evening.  Swooping, diving swirling and generally getting it on.  So much fun to watch mother nature, hard case that she is, working it out.  Must be a dozen nighthawks working and hundreds of dragonflies.

Get your butt inside man! There’s a football game coming on!

It was a good opening game, as far as the SPORT is concerned.   I think their overbearing message is going to do them more harm than good though.  They aren't going to change the world, so they'd be smarter to just play football and concentrate on THAT.   Nobody needs football players telling them how they should think and act.   When was the last time that a non-white person was discriminated against at a football game?

Maybe they should lower the price of tickets, beer, and food at the games so that lower income folks can join in the excitement.   No?   Oh, ok.   🙄

I think that we should take a Golgafrincham approach to non-essential workers ;). If we did, I wonder how many OAFers would be shipped off.

Well as far as dragonflies, a few nights ago they were swarming all around my house too, and they were the jumbo version, I'm thinking 3 inches long with a wingspan at least that long.  Bunch of swallows swooping around too but didn't see any nighthawks.

Couldn't see what they were after, but must of been some kind of very small flying insect.

Happened one night only, looked for them the next evening and nada.

I also noticed that the monarchs are starting to move, saw a few out on the lake the other day heading in a southerly direction.

There were a lot of those black swallowtail butterflies around this summer, seemed to me to be many more than usual.  Could not drive down the road without hitting some.

I help raise some of those black swallowtails.  We are still seeing a lot of them.  Monarchs are rare here.
