Yes - And I was not one of them.....😕 But someone has to donate to the pot right !?

I had a couple of guys that were live scoping for the Crappie tourney and they were covering water big time.

Everyone be safe out there tomorrow...probably be a little busy.

I'm with you c4f.   All we were able to do this weekend is donate to the pot as well. Even tho fishing was slow, it was  Still a great time on the water with my son.  :)   Have a safe trip back North!

Water rose 3’ and bluebird skies during the tournament. Not the best conditions.

Well today was pretty much the same story. Found a great morning bite that ended at 730. We had about 7 keeper smallies and again not one over 2.75 prob would have had close to a 12 lb sack but it ended and so did any catching for the rest of the day. We threw everything at them in every possible area we could think of.

Nothing wrong with catching some keeper smallies, even if you don't get a check.

My uncle and I signed up last minute for the tourney and headed down Friday night.

Started off the foggy Saturday morning on secondary points around the house throwing topwater and my uncle threw a wiggle wart. He caught a couple short Kentuckys and I got nothin. After an hour or so we moved closer to the main lake and I caught a nice 2lb smallie in the flooded bushes on an underspin keitech. Once the fog lifted we headed to Spring Branch for the rest of the day where I threw an A-Rig until my arm fell off and my uncle threw a keitech. We both skunked up that way.

Started Sunday morning in Beardsley again throwing topwater around docks and only caught one small Kentucky so we ran up to the Long Creek/Cricket Creek area. I chucked a spinnerbait for hours but the fishing was still slow. My uncle caught a 3.46 LM on a stump using a zoom finesse worm which was good enough for a 5th place finish from the 1-2 hour. With only an hour left to fish we pulled up on a bluff wall and on my first cast I set the NuTech Finesse Jig on a 4.01 LM which was good enough for a 3rd place finish. Thank you Bo!

I talked to the overall leader at the weigh in who said the winning 5.85 fish came on a jig in the Long Creek area.

Thank you to the Big Bass Tour crew for another great weekend and I look forward to the Spring 2021 event.

Seeing many smallmouth weighed in?  I wish they would enter the species along with the weights on the score tracker deal they have.

Quill - I did not see any smallies....all were large mouth. Funny you say that as I was thinking, while not catching any fish, how great it would be to catch a nice smallmouth that would weigh in around 4lbs!

Great Job JCK & Uncle! I finally gave up Sunday around 2! I don't think I could have thrown one more cast of anything, well maybe the Ned.

The guy that won came over to the dock where I was staying and was talking to his buddy....that guy was smiles ear to ear!  It was fun to hear him tell the tale of "the catch"

By the way I threw almost that same darn jig from Bo and had a couple of thumps but that was about it..glad you mastered it!

I saw one smallmouth that was weighed in posted on a swimbait page on FB that took the 2nd spot in one of the weigh ins the first day at 4.34lbs.

That is a great smallie for Table Rock.  Looks like one of those KGB baits.  I looked into that brand of baits, they are hard to buy as when the guy who makes them puts them on the market they sell out in literally 10 minutes or so.  I think he gets over a $100 each too.

I belong to the Swimbait Universe group on FB. Lotta good info out there. The page has really turned into more about selling/trading baits that actual fishing the last few years if you ask me. People are OUT OF THEIR MINDS with what they pay for some baits. Just STUPID MONEY. A few years back a KGB Bullfrog went for something like $1,500 on Ebay if I recall correctly. Was the talk of the town on BBC and fishing forums. That was the most insane I'd ever seen. Some baits warrant paying a little more. Especially if hand-made. I get that. But the prices that some are willing to pay......something about suckers, birth and 60 seconds.
