Hybrids

Anyone have any info on any hybrid action. Be like finding a needle in a haystack without any input. Thanks for any tips

I haven’t been down recently but I would start looking in coves/pockets off the main lake with wind coming into them...I would start looking in the middles in 40 FOW or less back to about 15 FOW and look for scattered bait And them larger fish.  If a strong wind they will follow the bait to the wind blown flats or banks either in those coves or on the main lake.   Deeper fish I’d work spoons; those in shallow will bit a variety of offerings but I usually start with in line spinners or swimbaits. Wind is your friend and concentrates them with the bait, flat water makes it tough - evenings have always been most productive for me.

I’m bringing my cousin down just for the day to get him on some whites, he’ll have a bunch of fun with them, but I am interested in finding the hybrids. One will have to do some searching I suppose with the side imaging,  Plan on being down next week for a few days. Thanks for the input, much appreciated.

Always seems like when you find the whites there are hybrids mixed in.  Always fun to be catching whites and set the hook and suddenly yu have a screaming drag headed for open water.  Buddy says "what have you got"?  Don't know but if I can turn him we might find out.

Last week we got into them in. We went into Indian creek and the whites were busting and we caught a few. But not as many as we would of hoped. So we went back to my buddies cove and they were busting all over there and like you said, it was a white, a white and then a hybrid and man that was fun.

If you're looking specifically for Hybrids, and your traveling to get here, then you'll likely have more success bypassing Lake O and heading straight for the lower end of Truman where they are more heavily stocked.   Hybrids, when you find them on Lake O, are basically loners, but on Truman you are far more likely to get into a whole school of them.

Not much going on by Tonka right now, I've seen very few fishing this area lately. I spent a couple hours in the spring cove last Friday with no whites or hybrids, just a couple small LM and a crappie.

Best wiper spot I ever fished was below the lock and dam on the lower Osage, upstream of Mari-Osa.  Killed them on chrome rattletraps.

You ever wonder where those hybrids there originally came from?   

There's a stretch of railroad rip-rap on the Mo.River near Booneville that is absolutely loaded with them too.   Reportedly no stockings anywhere near there.  

Our assumed intelligent fisheries biologists claim that they predominantly migrate downstream, seldom found upstream from where they are stocked.  Totally BS!
