196champ Posted December 2, 2020 Posted December 2, 2020 I know this is a long shot but thought I would throw it out there. I just picked up my first M1 Garand and have been on the hunt for some ammunition. Anyone have any military surplus or standard 30.06 they would part with, for sale or trade? Thanks! Brad JestersHK 1
Members Kayak_Runner Posted December 3, 2020 Members Posted December 3, 2020 If you plan to shoot a bandolier or two I would start investing and collecting reloading gear and supplies. US/NATO surplus M2 Ball is increasingly harder to find, and is generally at a premium. You can also change out your gas plug for a ported one from garandgear.com that will allow you to shoot commerical ammo safely. Even if you don't reload, save your brass. Eventually you'll wish you had it to reload it whether by you or a buddy who has the gear. JestersHK 1
jdmidwest Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 Ammo of any type or caliber has been in short supply since the riots started back in the summer. Then ole Elmer Fudd and sidekick are threatening to set up shop and tax anything that goes bang. tho1mas and snagged in outlet 3 1 1 "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Gavin Posted December 4, 2020 Posted December 4, 2020 You can swing it hard and kill something with it......A firearm without ammo is just a rock or a stick. ColdWaterFshr 1
JestersHK Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 Keep a close eye on the CMP website. And congrats on the Garand. They are truly fantastic battle rifles with tons of history baked into them. tjm 1
