fishinwrench Posted December 10, 2020 Posted December 10, 2020 Here ya go. This image must have been before my time though, because I remember them being 4.99 And yep, folks in the town I grew up in had lawns (we called them "yards"). And most of them were pretty big by today's standards too, averaging 3/4 to 1.5 acres. Complete with a dog pen for the bird dogs and a garden big enough to feed half the town. Only the ultra-rich had RIDING MOWERS. 😂 Our neighbor was the county coroner, his kid was a spoiled little punk that got to mow their yard with a sweet JD rider. I always wanted to punch him in the face. 😅 BilletHead 1

Got a few to hatch and thought it was too difficult at the time to keep up with their water changes and they got stinky pretty quick. Now we raise millions every day to feed our fish and invertebrates. you never know how things will turn out. About the original scud question, there are warm water and cold water species. The warm water ones, e.g., Hyalella sp. are not difficult to raise, but that is on a small scale, like thousands. We don't waste our time on trying to rear the coldwater species like Gammarus sp. due to water usage, diet and cannibalism. When we test Gammarus we will use field collected animals. I would think that it would take a considerable effort to try to rear them in large scale production.

I knew they weren't real monkeys. I always got an A in Science 😊 Hell, nobody has a patent on Scuds....Let's reintroduce these pets as "River Ferrets" and make some cash on this deal ! They'll sell like hot cakes on Facebook. It will help fund our fishing habits.

They would all start scrambling back towards water. That is if you can call a scud moving, "scrambling". BilletHead 1
