Quillback Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 Well I had a decent day, but got on OA and saw a couple of reports where people had better days than me, so maybe they are on the feed now. Or it could be the proverbial head fake.  😀 Weather forecast for the next few days looks good, so If a person has time, you could get into some fish. I caught a couple dozen today, only one keeper, but it was a decent smallmouth. A lot of my fish were spots in the 14-14.5 range, nice fat fish and fun to catch but that 15+ inch spot was elusive. All my bass except one came on a Ned rig, fished 10-20 feet deep around rocky structure. Caught one on a 110 JR and one non-fryable walleye on the JR. Heard through the grapevine of a couple of 4 lb. largemouth being caught in other areas of the lake. WT 51. m&m, SplitG2, Johnsfolly and 7 others 10
cheesemaster Posted December 8, 2020 Posted December 8, 2020 Nice smallmouth for sure. What’s the color of the 110 that you have pictured there?  I used the Table Rock shad and I really like it.  I was a huge McStick in Bandit until I got the vision 110. Carl W 1

It’s elegy bone.  Or at least that’s what it looks to me.  cheesemaster and Carl W 2
merc1997 Bo Posted December 8, 2020 Posted December 8, 2020 well done for the upper end. groups of bass are just darn hard to find right now. believe me you can burn up a lot of gas looking for them each day. if you do find them, it can be a very good day. today was one of those days for both numbers and size. but, caught most of them 65 to 70 ft. deep and, we were casting not video or vertical fishing. it seems like anymore that you have to sit quite a ways off from them to catch the better ones. a 4 lb. brownie, couple of 4 lb. lmgs, and several in the 3 lb. class, plus a 5 lb. walter. the walter numbers seems to be growing. i had 3 big ones yesterday, and we had two today.  bo m&m, SplitG2, Quillback and 2 others 5

willyfish Posted December 8, 2020 Posted December 8, 2020 How fragile are the vision 110s? I've heard they can be and was wondering if anyone has seen it firsthand.Â

Smithvillesteve Posted December 8, 2020 Posted December 8, 2020 I havent noticed the 110's being fragile. I broke one up here in Smithville last year. Of coursed i blasted it into the rocks on the dam fishing for walleyes. I'm thinking that probably could break any jerkbait. cheesemaster 1
Quillback Posted December 8, 2020 Author Posted December 8, 2020 A dozen years or so ago I caught a striper on one and used a nylon net to boat it. Hooks got caught in the nylon and in the ensuing struggle between me, the striper, and the net the 110 got broken. But other than that, I don't see them being any more or less durable than the other JB's out there. cheesemaster 1
Targa98 Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 Have a good buddy who had several in the same box. Went to use them a week ago, opened the box and about 9 of them had all popped open straight down the middle of each. Thinks possibly from the pressure changes in his boat over the summer in his shop. An expensive lesson to learn if that is the case. He has talked with MB and sent them back. They have not made a decision as of the last time we talked as if they will replace them.
