I'm not a fan of Yeti stuff.  Especially with companies like RTIC and Ozark Trails that have similar products for much cheaper that work just as well if not better.  I have one of the smaller Roadie 20 Yeti coolers that I got as a Christmas gift to go on the boat the year I got it.  I hate the handle that it has.  Makes it difficult to carry, and when its full its really too heavy to carry by oneself.  With the handle it has it's not designed for two people to carry it also.  It really doesn't keep the ice as long as they say it should either.  I'd never spend as much money as they want for their coolers.

You can buy a new in box old green 1970’s model for about $25 TYD.  Today’s culture has no idea about what you can do with a thermos bottle. Hot cup of soup, after sitting in the woods, looking at no deer with my dad. Jack Carny(sp) Saturday AM show on the way to/from home. Used to play old radio comedies. Amos & Andy, Laurel & Hardy, Jack Benny. Good times! BTW, a blue and white folding chairs are not a good deer hide. Was what we had, and we killed deer from them,

I still remember the day Jack Carney died.  I have this CD and it brings back some memories.

But the topic is Stanley.  I have a Stanley one gallon water jug that looks well weathered on the outside but spotless on the inside -- It ain't camping if that is not along.

I'm of the same opinion.  Have a magellan (Academy store brand) mid size cooler that was 1/3 the price of a Yeti the same size.  It's heavy but holds the cold excellently.  Has nice features - bottle opener on both front corners, two can holder spots in the lid - that Yeti lacks.  Good handle and latches.  I can easily handle it loaded by myself.  Good piece of gear.  Plenty sturdy for seat or to stand on.  Recommended.

Yeah, mine weighs about 15lbs without anything in it.  It says it holds 20 12oz cans and ice, but if you want enough ice to keep things cold for an afternoon it'll only hold about 15 cans.

They don't make the one I have anymore, they've upped it to a Rodie 24 that holds a whole case of cans, but it comes with a silly strap for a handle, although they did add a molded handle on each side to allow two people to carry it.  They deleted the drain plug on the new one though, and the reply Yeti gives on people who complain about it is, "We added two hand holds in lieu of a drain plug, and the hand holds make it easy to flip over to drain the water out."  Well my reply back to them is, "What do you do if your cooler is full of stuff and you want to drain the water out to add more ice?  Do you just hope your stuff doesn't fall out?"

Have an AB logo’ed Grizzly cooler that I bought at a charity auction. Works fine, but small capacity and heavy. Use bigger, cheaper, & lighter coolers mostly. Insulate the hollow lid on a cheap cooler and you have an instant Yeti.

Stretcha piece of plastic wrap or aluminum foil over the opening then put the lid on.  That air pocket really does the job.
