jdmidwest Posted January 23, 2021 Posted January 23, 2021 Dad stands at the door and pecks at his window to keep them scared off the feeders. A customer this week was telling about a cage he built around the feeder to keep them away. I have up to 5 or 6 around mine in the winter, beautiful birds. They don't bother the others and don't really seem to eat any more than the others either. Anyone else have any problems with them? I only have a heated bird bath but boy I get a lot of visitors. Now the nasty starlings are different story. They will mob the bath and run everything off. This year I have two pairs of Bluebirds. Probably my favorites even over Cardinals. My mother in law is here again and I have her set up right at the window. She loves it. Daryk Campbell Sr 1

Flyfisher for men Posted January 23, 2021 Posted January 23, 2021 My family long ago had a problem with them pillaging cherry trees. They planted several trees on the farm, but the first crop was ruined by them. They'd dive bomb the tree and pick 'em off mid-air. A bunch of cats were soon imported, and that solved the problem.

Terrierman Posted January 23, 2021 Posted January 23, 2021 I like birds, all of them, even the sparrows, starlings and yes the pigeons too. But most especially the crows. Have a feeder attached to the kitchen window. It brings quite a variety of seed eaters close enough to easily identify.
