Looks like a  low tide catch with that Jack. Turn that pier light on and hit it at High Tide! Looks like a 2--5' rise is normal. See what you get! Jack's eat well if you handle & cook them right. Treat like tuna...bleed, ice, never freeze. Cut out the blood line. I like it in ceviche with a ton of lime & cilantro.

Thanks. I released it. Was something else with the 4 pound line. I was ready to break it off if he made a long run.

Caught a croaker and a catfish this evening. Saw another dolphin.

I tried shrimp, trying to catch some fish for the kids but nothing... strange nothing would touch shrimp. I thought everyone likes shrimp!!

You need to upsize your tackle a bit. Saltwater catfish eat well....just like any catfish that you already know how to  clean. Floridians are not known for cooking skills, intelligence, or ambition.

Anything eats shrimp if fish are there, but if you have porpoise and jacks running through, they are likely to run anything off.  Both are vicious predators. Pretty cool to see a manatee....Next you need a school of stingrays that looks like tailing redfish!
