I was only low 60's today in Kansas. I'm starting to feel like @vernon since the weather turned cold as soon as we hit Illinois.

Things are growing. Finally. Coldest Spring we've had in a very very long time. 45° yesterday morning,48° this  morning and it's practically June now.

I waited several weeks longer than anticipated to transplant these Belgium tomatoes, but it worked out didn't lose a single this time, and they are vigorous ! If they are happy ,I'm happy 😁 they should be gigantic this year, plenty of space to grow, and I'm using really good dirt this year instead of amended yard dirt like the last few years. I want to see alot of that fencing covered in green and pink.

This one I think is stunted. Had cold feet for a month, many nights in the forties or under. It's way too bushy for a Belgium Giant. Has a few  flowers. Still it looks happy, so I'm happy. Actually surprised it lived because the other one I put out early didn't make it.

Zucchini is happy, there's a baby zuc in there, lots of blooms forming inside behind the leaves.

The heart shaped leaves are pretty cool.

Jalapenos are still making a bunch of  flower sites, but slow growing, I think if we ever get a few days of 80°+ will make a huge difference . By August the plants should be huge and awesome!  Happy in it's little 3 gal pot.

Made a raised bed for a watermelon patch, Sugar Baby kind. When it starts growing I'll share some pics.

Are you hash tagging me?  🤔

I think under the circumstances ol' Vern should be absolved of any and all responsibility for the ridiculous weather events so far this year.

No one person, regardless of considerable magical powers, could possibly wreak this kind of climate terrorism.

On the not so bright side however the days start getting shorter three weeks from tomorrow! 🤦‍♂️

Tomatoes and Peppers went into containers with Pro Mix on my Deck.

They are doing good and blooming.

Who said no tomatoes until Thanksgiving? I was picking lettuce & green onions yesterday in my little garden when I found these little guys. The plant isn't a foot tall. Hope many more to come this year.

                   Hey cool deal buddy!

Fresh lettuce salad for dinner tonight. Did slip in some smoked mallard breast sliced thin.
