The biggest problem I have is leaving a vehicle overnight at any of these takeouts. The night time crowds at these spots get a little rowdy.

That is not a joke ... I saw to hillbillies getting it on at taylor one night and only caught one drum on top of that 😂

No joke is right I have seen some dandies' on that stream. Down right scary. that is why I launch on the lake and jet up there. I have been flipped off even idling through some spots. Glad the jet is noisy so I don't hear the words.

That happens all over the Ozarks. Me and a buddy ended a night float on the James around 2am. Hit the bank at Hootentown and almost tripped over a couple. They never even slowed down.

@Jhoff are you a john boater or a kayaker?

I have a 14ft flat bottom with a trolling motor and a kayak as well and waders to stop and fish.  I would be up for using either.  I could use my yak if going solo or the john if someone without a kayak wanted to tag along.

Im thinking Ill try around Orleans unless someone tells me different 😊 ill try to report the water conditions if nothing else.

Good luck. I saw some whites that were caught out of another trib of that lake over the weekend. Hopefully you find some of your own. If I wasn’t going to a basketball game tonight I would join in.

Were they the males on an early upstream run or are the females getting an early start?

I doubt my shoulder would survive paddling, but I aint that far away that I couldn't help shuttle you if I am available.

Well folks, I crushed em! I fished from 4 to 6:30 and put 11 on the stringer and threw back probably another 8 or 9. Had one stretch where i probably had 10 in 15 casts. Caught them on a small floating rapala which was a total blast. I dont want to be specific on where I found them because it was a tip from an anonymous source 😊. I will say they are not up the creeks yet and I was in more of a main lake area.20210304_183340.jpg
