Devan S. Posted February 28, 2021 Posted February 28, 2021 I see the income disparity as huge as well but I really think its a train running downhill that's going to crash. Stock market has been on an absolute ride for a decade and many millionaires made with next to zero borrowing rate. That alone makes it a lot easier to fund a lifestyle. Add in that incomes can change in a heartbeat with a downturn and the mid-level fluff gets let go and you have a recipe that could be catastrophic. If these people aren't sitting on massive piles of cash(not funds in the market) then they wont be funding their lifestyle long. I firmly believe the next crash when, not if, it happens will likely be like nothing ever seen before. Those with those salaries now....but living on peanuts are likely the ones that will be okay and come out as the 1% on the other side. mixermarkb and dtrs5kprs 2
Members BassPastor Posted March 1, 2021 Members Posted March 1, 2021 Something to keep in mind regarding the number of boats out this weekend is that up here in Kansas City (and anywhere north), we're still dealing with 5" of solid ice from edge to edge on any body of water. Wouldn't be surprised if many couldn't resist heading south. I would have done the same if it weren't for my wife being due with kid #2 any day. crazy4fishin and Quillback 2

Based on that premise. We should all be heading north with augers and beer in hand. 😁 Luck is where preparation meets opportunity...... Or you could just flip a coin???

I can tell you that I was doing some hard figuring how I could make it south, fish some and make it back in time monday for work...almost pulled the trigger then my wife brought common sense to my thinking. I called her a fun hater 😉 and she did not disagree. On the bright side since it has been warming up I think we actually lost an inch of ice....there is hope. 96 CHAMP Posted March 2, 2021 Posted March 2, 2021 Best option, if one has, is to stay away from the weekends. Granted most don't have that option.
bluebasser86 Posted March 2, 2021 Posted March 2, 2021 I was foolish enough to drive an hour south from my house to the power plant lake on Saturday knowing that everyone with a boat would be there. Then it was thick fog with idiots everywhere. I watched boat after boat blast WOT into this stuff. I guess their Livescope must mark other boats at 70mph or something? We had a couple fish mid lake but like you said it was tough finding an open bank to fish. There were some real idiots out too. We were idling graphing a channel swing about 70 yds from the bank and some idiot blasts by between us and the bank at 60+ mph. He had 700 yds of wide open lake to pass by us but chose to go by between us and the bank. Had a similar deal on Saturday. Leaving Carter about 3:30pm, look both ways not a boat in site, cross the lake at a 45 at about 1/2 throttle. Start coming off plane about 100yds from the bank when some knucklehead in a white skeeter flies between us and the bank.....couldn't have been 30 ft from us. Maybe my bad for not peeking over my shoulder when crossing the lake, had my hoodie cinched down. Fished for 3 hours with smithvillesteve. Caught 2, one keeper on a small swim bait and one short on a jerk bait. Spent most of the day repairing cpvc pipes under the house. Was able to get hot and cold to the kitchen sink and water to the downstairs toilet. Still got some work to do, man we take that water for granted! dtrs5kprs and Quillback 2

I know I was lucky enough to be invited to fish with a buddy that had a tourn going on. We were not allowed to even take off till almost 10 am when the fog lifted. Granted we didnt do great. Had 4 keepers for about a whopping 9 lbs. very tough for us as we could not get bit on anything but the darn ARig, and it wasnt for a lack of trying.
