aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted March 26, 2021 Posted March 26, 2021 I remember a couple guys talking about it on here a couple years ago, im sure someone will chime in
MOPanfisher Posted March 27, 2021 Posted March 27, 2021 I believe that is the beginning of the Piney Creek Wilderness area or something like that. dtrs5kprs 1
GNSfishing Posted March 27, 2021 Posted March 27, 2021 Those buoy's are marking the Piney Wilderness area. No motor boats allowed so if you are going to fish that area bring your kayak and fish that area. Not even a trolling motor to be used in that area. I heard a few years ago that a person was fishing in that area and was disqualified from a tournament for fishing that area. I suppose if the right enforce officer could write you a ticket for using a motor powered boat in that area. That area is also restricted for no ATV's in that area. Those buoys used to be farther back but was moved a couple three years ago to their present location... dtrs5kprs 1
aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted March 27, 2021 Posted March 27, 2021 Ive been back there so many times and never once have i seen a kayak back there, they tend to venture out to the deep water even though they pride themselves as being able to go shallower than bass boats......Im just still mad about the kayak out in the middle of the lake I almost hit one morning before sun up. No lights or anything, It left a bad taste in my mouth dtrs5kprs, vernon, dan hufferd and 2 others 5
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 27, 2021 Root Admin Posted March 27, 2021 Kayaks on Taney, esp right now, is a death wish waiting to happen. I had a guy waving his arms at me the other day as I approached. Was slowing down to idle speed to pass him and a few other kayaks and boats anyhow so I asked him if he was in trouble. He pointed behind me and said he didn't wanted to get swamped by my wake. I told him nicely that he was on the wrong lake if he was concerned about that. I think he was terrified the whole float cause it was a Saturday and the lake was full of boats. dtrs5kprs and BassPastor 2

You're a good smart boater Phil. There are a lot of people on Taneycomo who aren't.
