Y'all are making me like my old Tours even more.

My Fortrex refuses to break.  I kinda want it to so I can get an Ultrex.  Or maybe a Force, or maybe something still on the drawing boards.  Love the idea of Spot Lock.

Fisheries biologist too?  Small trout at Bennett?  Poor management at the hatchery?  4 strokes?  Mercury in general?  😂  I could go on...😄

It ain't "whining" when it's a legit complaint.

I graciously spare you my weekly rant about lawn tractors, FedEx, underage partiers, and how many liquor stores I have to drive past to get my beloved MGD.    But I refuse to spare you on ANYTHING that has to do with the boating/fishing world.  😋

My old Tour 109 broke, so I bought an even older Tour 109 and slapped it on, and a brand new Tour...but with zero bells and whistles.

It's been praised ad nauseum but by golly, after fighting for well over 30 years to keep my boat under control and in position, it's just an absolute treat to hit a button and have that done for me especially when fishing alone. I replaced my trusty Tour 109 with a Tour Pro 109 in February and it is just so dang relaxing to camp on a spot, make as many bait changes as I want, eat a sammich, etc, and not think twice about the boat drifting into the bank or a dock or rocks or 100 yds away from the spot where I've got 'em corralled. There is no doubt that I'm catching more fish and if I get an inkling for a bait change, there's no more reluctance to stop and make it because I'm going to blow into the bank. Time will tell on the reliability of the new Tour Pro but so far, it's fantastic. Note: the old Tour 109 is in the truck ready as a backup. 🙂

The nice thing about Fortrex and Ultrex is that you can install an Ultrex and then keep the Fortrex as a backup since the Fortrex will mount up to an Ultrex mount. You can't mount the Ultrex to the Fortrex mount though. I'd love to have one as a backup for my Ultrex if I could ever find a used one for the right price.

Fortrex motors are legit. Bryan Thrift is one of the best bass fishermen in the world and still runs a Fortrex. Other pros give him a hard time about it, but he says if it ain't broke, why fix it?

Nice to know the Fortrex will fit into the Ultrex mount, one of these days I will get an Ultrex (probably).  You guys aren't being very helpful coming up with all these reasons that one should have an Ultrex.  🙂

You guys jinxed me. My Ulterra went out on me during my trout trip this morning.

There is only one redeeming feature on the motor and that is the deploy and retract.

It’s going to cost me big this time as I will have a devil of a time getting it fixed in a timely manner

Sorry you had trouble Bill. I like you am at the mercy of the "Timely Manner" The timely manner problem is far from just being an issue with boat parts, the auto industry is struggling getting parts and supplies for repairs as well as even getting new cars to sell. Backorder is the name of the game, sometimes its weeks to get what we are needing with no signs of it getting better anytime soon.
