aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted August 4, 2021 Posted August 4, 2021 ON my boat i dont have carpet on the floor of the cockpit, it is textured buy slick as can be in the mornings. Im gonna buy a sheet of the off brand stuff off Amazon and give it a shot. Heard people say good things about it. dan hufferd 1
fishinwrench Posted August 4, 2021 Posted August 4, 2021 I love it that it dries fast, and cleans up easily, but I don't know yet how long it is going to last. I have a feeling that the sun is going to deteriorate it alot faster than carpet. And it is going to look like hell once it begins to age. Having to replace it every 4-5 years would really suck. A good carpet job typically lasts 15+ years.
MOPanfisher Posted August 4, 2021 Posted August 4, 2021 Used a work boat once that had been Rhino Lined inside, worked and lasted well. No clue how or if that compares to seadeck.

He definitely lost his snappy hole-shot. MOPanfisher 1
curtisce Posted August 4, 2021 Posted August 4, 2021 I wonder how it will look in 5 years. Just got back from LA. All the bay boat are just fiberglass on the deck and it seems to work fine. My Xpress is of the same design as their bay boats. The carpet around the edges of the compartment doors make them hard to open. The answer may not lie at the bottom of a glass, but you should always check

A tight fit on compartment lids is good boat design. Keeps them from flopping around in rough water. It's either that, or having to fiddle with a latch every time you want the lid open. 😊

196champ Posted August 4, 2021 Posted August 4, 2021 What I run into is I only get to fish a few days at a time and cover the boat prior to going home. If it rains while I am there, covering up a wet boat doesn't work well. The wet spot is usually in the cockpit. I spoke to Nauti Renovations, they are out of the LOZ area and have been installing AquaTraction for 5 years or so. They scan the area (can do it with the carpet still in) and said it usually takes a few weeks to get the pre cut material back for install. He did mention the fit if you decided to do the entire area as they will have strips made for the friction seal. Not sure the longevity on that as i'm sure that would be a PIA. Looking forward to having it installed in the cockpit area for sure!
