According to the internet machine, tire pressure goes up or down about 1 PSIG for each 10 degree (fahrenheit) change in temperature.

Driving normally in this weather, my tires gain 6 to 7 PSIG in an hour on the road after sitting overnight.  So factor that in when inflating your tires.  Pete wants you to get this done right.

He could up his game and fill with nitrogen; it’s low coefficient of expansion would keep it at the desired pressure regardless of normal ambient temps.  Go big or go home…

So your hour of time spent an hour was only worth 2 bucks.

Company time, Company car.  And it was very cold out.

At noon today, both of the rear tires on my truck were 72 PSIG.  Sensor says they're low if they hit 69.  Have to get them up to 80 to reset.  Both front tires were at 63 PSIG.  Sensor says they're low if they hit 59.  Have to get them to 70 to reset.

That's too much air but it is impossible to reprogram the TPMS and I cannot stand warning lights so I run them the way the factory wants me to.

Happy now?

72psi seems rediculous.   I was taught to inflate until 3 lugs are in contact with level ground.....and that has always served me well.

On my Z71 Truck, and on my Tahoe, that equates to 48-50 psi with 16" and 17" BFG/AT'S respectively.

Several places around here have 78% nitrogen. It treats my tires pretty well is inflated to the pressure on the door pillar sticker.

Regular air is about 78% nitrogen already, so I'm staying home.

Depends on your political view, many think its about 90% CO2.

True, but 99.99% is ideal.  I’ve had access for many years through my employer so I have taken advantage.  Tires last longer and no seasonal fiddling around required.
