Hickory shad is the first one caught in a tributary of the Susquehanna River in upstate Maryland. American shad are the next two from NC trip last year. They do fight really hard. They play the current really well and jump a fair amount. I have done a couple of pilgrimages to the Tar River to catch those Americans in early March. Livie caught a really nice hickory from the Tar and I had one but no photo before it came of the hook. Quillback 1
