Paying 10x the amount while still having to work my butt off, and then having to wait 3 months....for sub-standard vegetables.... doesn't calm me down one iota. Why doesn't anyone grow their own brussel sprouts? Broccoli? Potatoes? Portabella 'shrooms? I love those things ! And since I have to go to the grocery store to get them......I might as well grab tomato's, cucumbers, carrots, and zucchini too......since that's all anyone ever grows in their high-dollar "gardens". 😅

So much better than store bought. I know some that grow their own broccoli. Potatoes are somewhat of a waste of time unless you have a larger piece of ground. The main thing about growing your own is the opportunity to grow varieties that you can't get at your store. Maverickpro201, BilletHead and snagged in outlet 3 1 2

But I can't buy the flys I prefer to fish ANYWHERE. If I could then I certainly wouldn't bother making them myself. Doing so would be ignorant. The tomatoes we get at the local G2M or the Amish stores are freakin' delicious enough for ME. But if you're such an elite tomato connoisseur that you'd turn your nose up at them......then I can't even relate to ya. 🙂. oneshot Posted March 3, 2022 Posted March 3, 2022 I’m just nuts grow what I can. Was told 24 hours on Grow Lights first 3 weeks. I have found the roots are as important as the tops. They like air and not too much water. Sprays I’m thinking watch what I put on my plants considering I’m eating them. I’ve always had plenty of food and firewood thinking if I run out I’m in bad shape. oneshot BilletHead 1
Bushbeater Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 Brussell Sprouts are Ez to grow and you can harvest well into winter.

And you always have to have soured milk somewhere. I grow for the Joy of it and the fresh veggies that taste so much better than the store bought stuff. And then you have the special helium stuff. You cannot buy some of this in the stores, they are limited.
