One of the Good Days

I have heard a saying more than once. It goes, "the two best days with a boat are the day you buy and the day you sell it."

Sold the Lund today. Now I can spend the money on guided trips.

Unless you're upgrading to something better, I have never understood how selling a boat could be considered one the best days. That would be the worst day for me.

                   Like it or not Seth there comes a time when you have to do what you have to do. Young man be invincible as long as you can and enjoy it. Time will go by faster as you get older! Good thing though we can still read reports from young bucks such as you .

Bill, Roland and Jimmy are still out there doing their thing in their 70s and 80s. I'll never match their ability but I'd sure be glad to match their longevity.

I love my jet boat.  Best fishing related thing I’ve ever bought.   My little pond prowler being second.   I think I’m selling that though.   Lakes I used to fish with it have been beat to death.  Internet wounded them and kayaks put them out of their misery.  😆

I fished yesterday with a guy that is almost 79.  He is starting to have some issues, but he hung in there well.  Living here in Bella Vista with a lot of old folks around, if you can still be fishing on your own, launching a boat and all that comes with it when you hit 75, you are doing well.

Don't let yourself get fat as you age, most, if not all the guys still out there in their 70's, are not fat.

I keep telling myself I need to buy a kayak. There is a lot of good fishing around here that you can only fish with a canoe or kayak and I don’t take advantage of them.

Pete If I was closer might have considered that pond prowler. We only have a few lakes around us and none are that big. So a little boat like that would work great.

Right now the gas to pick up and take it out this way would be way more than the boat itself 🙄
