Dock-in-it Posted April 3, 2022 Posted April 3, 2022 BFL again. But another one day deal. LOZ was cancelled due to snow awhile back and rescheduled to Table Rock. Amazing to see so many major sticks struggled yesterday. bobby b. 1
aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted April 3, 2022 Posted April 3, 2022 Getting a guide the day before a tournament is pretty pathetic in my opinion. Im sure it is done way more than i even know bobby b. 1
Quillback Posted April 3, 2022 Posted April 3, 2022 Big Bass bash next weekend, MLF College/high school tourney, Bass federation, and AIA. If I fish, it will be Beaver lake for me. Zulu 1
Bill Babler Posted April 3, 2022 Author Posted April 3, 2022 KVD was the one that pioneered it when it was legal. Guides, marked maps and local info. Still is on the Phoenix Bass Fishing League. ie BFL and tons of other circuits. Most circuits in fact. I’ll still take 20 plus trips a year with tournament anglers and lots of the other guys do as well. It’s a big part of our business. All the old guides here have helped tons of the pros in the past. Pete Wenners, Bill Beck, Bobby Tindle, Buster Loving, Tim Sainato, Myself. I know Eric Oliverson has and Phil Stone. Rick LaPoint has guided them and marked maps This is not a new or uncommon thing. Never has been. Guides all over the US on every lake there are tournaments take or help participants. Deadstream 1 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com

Yes if the tournament allows it. Most all do. I know Rick LaPoint has been active in this market and really thought of it. Wise move on his part and I believe he has done well doing it. Maps and way points. These guys for the most part are fishing circuits where not only pounds matter but points. Anything that is Legal they can get to help is on the table. We all have made good money, especially on the FLW tour as they booked all the guides full when ever they came. Bo worked with and helped derby fishermen for years and years. He didn’t do it for free. Deadstream, bobby b. and MarkG52 2 1 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted April 3, 2022 Posted April 3, 2022 For the record I was not trying to bash any guides, I just feel there isnt a lot of integrity with the guys hiring guides to show them how to catch them the day before the tournament magicwormman 1
Quillback Posted April 3, 2022 Posted April 3, 2022 I'll play a devil's advocate - You've got guys coming from out of state to fish these deals. They are competing against some of the best local tournament fishermen that practically live on this lake. Hard to blame people for hiring a guide or calling around for advice. Yeah, but if they are competing at that level you would think they could find there own fish.
