So yesterday, we launched from Campbell Point. The water is up as a picnic table and part of the parking lot is under water. The ramp isn't very steep and thankfully I wasn't by myself. We had to back the truck up to almost the front wheels to the water to get the boat off the trailer. It was a bit sketchy weather yesterday. We did get rained on and some soft hail...it was like getting pelted with mini snowballs. Thankfully, they weren't frozen solid!! We focused on flats, runout points, and secondary points with gravel. We also ran some transition banks. Jerkbait was the ticket. The moss is really bad in this part of the lake...so it was a no go on the crankbait. We threw jerkbaits, spinnerbaits, lipless crankbaits, jig, and Rock Crawler. All of our bites were on the jerk.

These were the two best of the day. One was 4.5lbs and the other was 3.7lbs. We boated 20 bass with probably 4 or 5 keepers.

Today, (Saturday), I went solo and launched at Campbell Point.  A fellow fisherman, who I think was there for a tournament, jumped in to help me launch. I had not backed up my truck far enough to get the boat off my trailer and he asked if he could help me. He backed up the trailer and allowed me to get the boat off and over to the bank and brought me my keys after parking for me. That helped A LOT!

I tried to run the same pattern as yesterday but struggled to get bit. I did manage to catch a big crappie in about 6-8 ft of water on a jerkbait while fishing a flat. I think I caught 4 or 5 bass...nothing really big. Two may have been keepers. I caught them working bluffs with the jerkbait. The morning was pretty miserable with driving rain and wind for an hour or so.

Afterwards, there was a beautiful full rainbow.

Yep its hardly ever used even when the parks full in the Summer.

Corps need to steepen it instead of throwing all the money in the lake for rip rap around the ramps so you can't even park.

Beautiful huge parking lot restroom faculty and the worst ramp on the lake

Really short sided by the Corps.

Before dawn, choppy water. Not easy to see if coconut sized rocks have spilled on the ramp. Heard it from a friend…

There is a Civil Engineer that lives just outside the park. I guide him quite a bit. He said with an excavator and 3 dump trucks you could remove the entire old ramp in one day.

Deepen the launch facility the next day as there is deep water just in front of the existing ramp, and I mean just in front.

Then the next day slide the pre-cast ramp panels in place. Said he would engineer it for free. Be under a week job with clean up.

The third biggest community on the lake behind Branson and KC would then have one of the best launch facility and take huge pressure off the SK bridge ramp.

Especially since they closed the ramp at Big Creek instead of spending 5 grand on it. Easier just to close it.

Bunch of crud really. That's your government.

Yeah, it was stupid how many large rocks were around the dock. I didn't use the dock...just let my boat drift up to shore where it looked like it was pretty clear. Had my motor trimmed up as high as I could to use it.
