Has anyone ever caught a walleye on a topwater?  Because I did on Friday night while fishing for bass.  A first for me!  Caught this one on a sexy dawg!

then my boat partner and I caught a double on Saturday night on the same point on square bills.

The biggest one was 24” and just under 4lbs.  Have never caught so many walleye while bass fishing. Caught at least one on every outing over 2 1/2 days.  Obviously populations are growing in TRL!  Happy to see that!

I fished with DanO and we had another double

I got 2 largemouth on one 6XD

Had the smaller one hooked on the back hook when I saw the bigger one (3.75 lbs) take the front hook.
They stayed buttoned up even after coming out of the net!!
Props to the net man!! BEDCF8C2-76C7-42CD-B053-C003E1D0F9BB.jpeg034B6360-B070-45E4-B1AA-9D54953490AF.jpeg

I have caught two walleye on topwaters. One, a cigar, swiped at a Spook Jr. The other hit a Chug Bug I had thrown in some pole timber as I let it sit for the rings to subside. It too was small.

Nice, rps.  Just haven’t heard of it happening.  Make sense that if anyone has that it would be you.  I was quite shocked when I got it to the boat and saw what it was.  It was almost dark so I didn’t see the hit very well.

I netted a walleye for a buddy of mine last year that he caught on a top water, and I had one to the boat this spring that I hooked on a top water, but I got a little casual getting it netted and it got off.  Both were on Beaver lake.

It was 30 or so years ago but my brother and me were at Greer's Ferry when the water was way up (probably fifteen to twenty feet high) and we caught REALLY nice walleye (and everything else for that matter) all week long on the old Bass Pro Shop's Uncle Buck's buzzer in the flooded grass fields.

One of the best and craziest weeks of fishing we've ever had.  Got probably six or seven more inches of rain that week and the lake just kept risin' but the fish just kept bitin'.

Had a similar experience one trip to Stockton when again the water was way up and the wally's were in two to three feet of water.
