This is why things (in the tournament world) need to change.

Hauling around, Putting them through the Weigh-in process, Relocating (and potentially killing) perfectly good 2-3 pounders by the truckload......for NO REASON AT ALL.   πŸ˜”

Why are they still doing this in every body of water, 4-5 times per week?  πŸ€”

So it's likely that only 4 of the 47 got a check.   So 43 boats (86 guys) lost sleep, wasted fuel, and harmed fish for nothing.

I'm amazed that this method of scoring is still allowed by the "Conservation" dept.

Well said Wrench, I totally agree! Makes zero sense from a conservation standpoint point. Lucky there were only 3 fish over 5 lbs hauled around in that Laker Lunker Challenge last Sat. Disgusting that our DNR even issues tourney permits for the catch and keep format in the summer. I think we have a new biologist for LOZ now after Greg Stoner retired? Is there any point in contacting him? I would at least like to hear their rationale for justifying it (I’m sure it’s all about  the money!).

I guess MDC better start offering a grant program so clubs can afford boat officials, calibrated scales, and a web based live streaming platform to every bass club in the state. πŸ˜

No, that should be done by the anglers, or the tournament organizations, that truly value the resource.

Are they gonna buy my boat gas and equipment too?  πŸ˜

So they need to help you NOT abuse the resource?  πŸ˜

It’s the cute and cuddly syndrome.   If birders went and took adult birds off the nest and brought them to a far location for proof instead of a picture.   And left the baby chics to die, the general public would be outraged.   Same with any cute and cuddly animals.   But fish and reptiles don’t fall in that category.

Abiding by MDC regs is abusing the resource? And here I thought the point of those regs was to prevent that. Otherwise it's poaching and illegal. No wonder LOZ is still kicking out those big bags of bass! Must be due to all the tournament guys abiding by those regulations. πŸ˜
