You can’t get out near your home for any fishing?

I have been under care since April 2years ago….( Covid-19’s complications)

the lack of sufficient medical staff complicates my situation not to go into detail but it’s been a nightmare….the things I have seen through all this

MONKEYS? what monkeys?

It has been said that you should never go back to where you had great day, because the changes there will make you sick. I've seen native brookie streams paved over and built into a housing complex twice, so I believe that. Change is inevitable and  I have never seen changes improve a good fishing spot.

No kidding.   When they paved the road to one of my favorite river spots I knew the good ole days were over.   And they were.

Tough finding the good old days with all the social media about how good the fishing is at a particular place like Taney for instance. It seems like all the guides and all their pictures lure tons of people to these places. I can understand why they do it. I know it is all about the money that can be generated with hit the like button. Fishing will never be the same as it once was. Seldom do I ever put my pictures on social media and if I do it is always on a huge body of water and not some little spot like Crane creek or the Narrows lol .

There’s more guides on Taney now than there used to be fishermen years ago.

It used to be considered unethical, actually shameful, to "guide" on stocked water, or from MDC river access areas.

But that code kinda just dissolved.   🤔

There are about 163% more people in the USA than there were back then too, so the % of the population that fishes or guides could be way less and  there would still be more of them.

Yep.   I asked a guy why he paid a guide to take him to McClellans years ago.  The place was literally packed with fish.  I got to ask him because the guide told him to stand just upstream from me and drift his rig down in front of me.   Seriously.  He told the guy that.
