Here's a quiz for ya.....

What year did they start putting kill switch lanyards on little tiller outboards?

This is important sociatal information, because anyone who began boating after that is officially a Snowflake.   I bet it was the same year that bicycle helmets became a thing.  🙄

I guess I look at things a bit different. Like the seatbelt law. It's pretty easy to buckle up and maybe save a life. Might be yours or a family member you save. when the law that required use of the kill switch were older outboards like cars that did not come out with seatbelts excluded?  We had a water patrolman come to one of our safety meetings. The photos he brought was an eye opener. The clipping on of the kill lanyard is hard to get used to. Every time I shut down, I forget to unclip, but it will soon become easy.  Kind of like wiping your rear after taking a dump.  Call me a snowflake if you must I am an adult and can take the peer pressure. Lawn mowers scare ME.

This sucker here is scary too IMG_20220717_134208652.jpg

If you've ever seen a grinding wheel explode then you shudder everytime you flip the switch on.    Those "wheel guards" are a joke. They just direct all of the shrapnel right at your face and chest.   It's like having a hand grenade go off in your hands.  😳

These bastards here are my most feared object these days.   I sneak up on them and grab them like they are a poisonous snake now. IMG_20220717_135054869~2.jpg

Pretty close to our Cabin.

When we had property over there I would fish at Sapp's Landing. Always caught fish.

Go either way go down stream catch Crappie in the brush at the turn. Go upstream to the riffle and catch Catfish.

When we first moved there could drive long ways on COE Land take you right to the river.  Then it got to where you really didn't want to drive it.

Killed a lot of Hogs down there.

You would think there wouldn't be that many hunting it but it was packed.

Hog population is very much reduced but that area had a lot wouldn't be surprised if a few still around but I know the trapper for that area and he spends a lot of time looking for sign.

Also right with Truman's elevation I would be very cautious launching at Sapps, if your trailer drops off the end of the concrete slab you are in for a miserable time to get it back off of it.  Lake level is coming back up a bit but I cannot remember what level it is when it's just a good idea not to launch there.  712 I think on the upper end but don't remember on the lower end.

Not saying what I think of the Trappers. I use to Bait Hogs killed a Big One then everyone started running them with Dogs.

If river got low I would put in beside the ramp.
