Ha, your not likely to see a bear in Canada, the undergrowth in the bush is so thick you will smell them first. The same with Moose. A bear or mooose guides first priority is to make sure the client has a close shot in spot we’re the can get the animal out easy. Thinking Ice out or Labor Day timeframe. My friend John Walker and me had some great fishing on Labor Day on the Saugeen, near Fergus, Ont. Smallmouth eating hex spinners. Some big trout options on the Grand River in Fergus. Musky, smallies, too. Ken Collins at Troutfitters is the man for that one. Hour and a half out of Detroit.

I've been to Mille Lacs the last two years. In september. The good thing about Mille Lacs is you can always plan your fishing sessions according to the wind. The lake is a big bowl. The thing is a 10-15 mph wind on that lake can whip up some serious whitecaps. But you can check the wind and find a launch in the appropriate area that is protected and fish that area. We never did venture out to the middle where the big boulders are. Where the pros are catching 6-7 lbers. 2 years ago my buddies boat had some issues and last year we just didnt feel the need to do it. My buddy caught a beautiful 4lber and i have caught a few 2-3 lbers. If you want to stay relatively close to home this is a nice place to go.

Saw this on BBC:

I am fortunate enough to be able to fish Chequamegon Bay twice a week, weather permitting, and the enlightened catch & release policies and daily creel limit of allowing only one minimum 22" smallmouth bass to be kept has allowed this vast shallow expanse of Lake Superior to become one of the best trophy smallmouth bass fisheries anywhere on the planet! I highly recommend both Mr. Baron and Mr. Teigen, having recommended several business clients to them in the past and everyone has always been happy and satisfied with their guided trips for giant smallmouth bass on this special fishery.

I wish Missouri would do more to protect river smallies.

MDC won’t do a thing. They are are PR organization at best now. Elk, bike trails, and sunflower fields are what the are selling right now, while all the stuff they bought & built goes unmaintained and turns to crap.

Sad but true. 🙄

What's that Director's name again? The entire agency is being made over and reorganized. As far as I can tell, not for the better either. I think the aim is to screw the Department up so badly that we will let the politicians take control of it for their profit.
