St. Charles was one of the cities hit hard by this morning's rains.  @snagged in outlet 3 Are you home or down at Taneycomo?  I hope you are safe, and your house is dry!

Thx!   I’m at Taney and the house is ok.   Our mill and heavy fab shops were shut down because the roads were flooded.   11 inches is what I heard.

Looks pretty jacked up.  One of our suppliers shut down also by Earth City.  It dumped a flood.

I do feel sorry for the folks affected, but they bear most of the responsibility for choosing to locate themselves in the flood plain. You know we’re its going to flood if you’ve lived in STL for any time at all. Chesterfield Valley  was under water in 93 when the levee breached. All those new malls were built since then.

Dardenne Creek never used to flood like it does now.  All that concrete and asphalt that's been added to the area as St. Charles county has grown in population causes the water to run off into the creek faster than ever, and it doesn't have a place to go except where people have built houses and businesses now.  Take from mother nature and she shall taketh back.

I’ve built two houses in st charles county.   Simple process.  Look for the red dot on the plat map.   It indicates the property is in the flood plane or it was in the flood plane before they backfilled it.

Floods are worse today. Saw a couple new warehouses going in next to the Marsh @ Creve Couer Lake.
