But by the time I recover from that procedure wouldn't I have gotten over it anyway? It ain't like he's gonna pass a magic hand over it and put me back into paradise immediately.
jdmidwest Posted September 8, 2022 Posted September 8, 2022 I second the back crackers, they are quacks that seem to think they can solve everything. But they give a good message to relax the spot that is pinched. They may be able to move the bones away from each other and relieve the pinch. But their voodoo is not usually covered as conventional medicine for insurance purposes. An Occupational Therapist could help, but they bend you over worse in the pocket book. fishinwrench Posted September 8, 2022 Author Posted September 8, 2022 I've given chiropractors a try twice in the past. My review was that you can go to one and feel lots better in 3-6 days.......or you can NOT go to one and feel lots better in 3-6 days. I'm not convinced that they do anything other than put on a puppet show. If one could prescribe me a fistful of Tramadol I might consider it.
jdmidwest Posted September 8, 2022 Posted September 8, 2022 Its a rub down either way. Only real medicine can get to the cause of the pain. Terrierman 1 "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson

Ibuprofen takes the edge off ok, but I'm not comfortable with taking 4 of them every 3-4 hours. In those doses it ain't exactly good for your organs.

I had a bad spasm in back when many moons ago, way before my compressed disks. It was a Saturday morning. I literally could not move without hurting. By Sunday morning it was worse, and I was told there was an old chiropractor that would come to office on Sunday. I was so desperate I went. He started manipulating me to the point he had me in tears. I made it home worse. Monday morning, I went to doctor. He said oh no that was not the right thing to do. No kidding doc! He gave me some muscle relaxants for a few days, and it worked. I still have no idea what brought it on.
