Something else i need advice on. I haven’t sharpened my own knives in years. I usually take the 2 i carry in the woods, to Bass Pro before season and have them do their best. This season I’m going to do my own. Looking at stones, the world has exploded the past 10+ years with new things. So many from the old school stones like gramps used, to the new diamond style. Looking for one that will put an edge on one. Any input?

One of the best investments I have ever made.

Ok BH, you’re killing me here. Watched 2 videos of it, and headed to Lowes shortly to grab one. Shows they have it in stock for $79.98. I mean how do you go wrong with that for something that will last for years, used on something that we use. I may even volunteer to sharpen buddies knives.

I'm telling you this thing is the bomb man. I can do and have done for years on stone and diamond hones to scalpel sharp but it's a slow process. This deal is quick just follow the directions and take your time until you get it figured out. First grit sets the new angle that you will maintain for all the time you use this tool. Enjoy!  There used to be a guy at the local city farmers market and would sharpen knives for folks while they shopped. He always had a bunch each week to sharpen. I know he was making some good money doing it.

There used to be one on the counter at our MFA. Everyone used the crap out of it, I think they must have gotten tired of buying belts for it or something and canned it.

I believe that.  It is a good tool.

I have had these Bushnell binos for years. They have traveled many states hunting and fishing. They have been the reason behind several of my wildlife harvests, as without them I wouldn’t have seen that turkey coming in, deer sneaking through the timber, or spotted bald eagles perched in a tree.

Recently while getting hunting gear out for the season, i placed them on the flatbed of my truck. Went and did chores, then headed off to town. About 10 miles down the road I remembered what i had done, but they were gone.

As i sit here scanning online for a new pair, i feel like i have lost my best rod in 100’ of water.

Looking for something in that $300 range. Any input?

As of now the Vortex Diamondback HD 12-50 have caught my eye. At $279.00 they seem pretty legit.

I own oculus, zeiss, leupold, vortex and some oddballs. Zeiss has the best clarity and light gathering. Barely better than the vortex razor. Leupold, unless something changes, I won’t own any more. Vortex dominates my safe and their diamondback Bino’s are better than my oculus at half the price.

Vortex customer service is second to none. You won’t be disappointed though 12x50 in any brand will be chunky compared to 10x42.

I still use my Lansky sharpening stones. They do work well but as mentioned take a fair amount of time together good edges on our knives. I have looked at these but not pulled the trigger. I may have to put this on the Xmas wish list😉
