Looked like Pete Wenners and Mike Webb had tough days. Oliverson did well.

I went up the White Thursday looking for walleye. Caught zero walters but had close to 2 dozen bass.

I did have 6 keepers but they were infants. Buck LM. I’ll bet the best 5 might have weighed 8/9 pounds.  Caught them all on a jerkbait.

Good to hear the JB is working!

My go to this time of year if I have some sun and a bit of color in the water is a megabass French Pearl plus 1 with a custom painted belly and head. “ Tim Hughes”

They would not have it, at all. Fished it for over 2 hours, thinking it was location.  Switched to a plus 1 Table Rock Shad and caught 4 off the 1st. point I fished it on. They wanted that purple/orange.

Caught a couple on the Keitech and a couple on a small 3/8 tungsten jig but the TRSjerkbait was the best.

I figured they would be munching today, caught a whole bunch of short fish with just 2 keepers.  We were way up the James and Flat.  We had a tournament out of Cape today and looked like most the guys who had limits did not go up the river.  16 boats and 14-5 to win today. Lots of fat spots weighed in, i think 3 or 4 LM over 4lbs

I was in the yak today in Flat Creek. I caught about 20 or so but no keepers. I had quite a few smallies that were just short.  I did get broke off. I was using 12-lb coploymer line. I had my drag set too high and whatever I had hooked surged as I got it near the boat and broke me off. I didn't get a chance to see it. I lost a good one yesterday in a tournament trying to horse it...came off right before I could grab my net. Rookie moves.

Copolymer lines are cheap at the cash register but, in my experience, can be quite expensive on the water in lost fish. Only one I've ever loved is the original P-Line CXX.

You pay your money, and you take your chances. MIllions of fish are caught on house brand lines that I would never consider using. I have literally caught thousands of fish using copolymer lines and I have ZERO concerns about the quality of those type lines costing me a fish. P Line is a good line. I really like CX Premium as a finesse line.

Yeah, the line I was using was the PLine 12LB Fluoroclear copolymer line. I retie a lot. Before I started retying as often as I do now, I would lose a lot of lures where the line would simply break when casting or when hung up. I quit using anything less than 12lb test because of how often it was breaking. I would prefer to use 15lb test or higher but for these smaller crankbaits and jerkbaits...the 12lb test allows me to cast further and get down further. It is rare that I have a fish break me off. Maybe once or twice per year and that has been at Pomme where I think it was likely a big muskie. This was the only time at Table Rock having a fish break me off in 3yrs.
