oneshot 1 Posted April 18, 2023 Posted April 18, 2023 Nice two year old. I haven't hunted Turkeys for years. I've only seen two and heard none. Use to do a count for MDC but like I told them over time it became a Joke not hearing any. oneshot
ollie Posted April 18, 2023 Posted April 18, 2023 Come over to this side of the state. I can show you turkey after turkey if you want! Nice job on the turky shot BTW. Ryan Miloshewski Posted April 19, 2023 Posted April 19, 2023 Nice bird, Marty! Congrats. I got out for the first time yesterday evening in Kansas. Heard four different birds and had one come close but ran out of shooting light. He covered 200 yards in 3 minutes and got to 70ish. Time hit zero so I just watched him fly in the tree. Wish I could've gone after him this morning. I'll get back out soon. Set up in this little area off a logging road on public where the redbuds were in full bloom. Icing on the cake would have been him in full strut standing underneath 'em before I shot. I love spring and chasing these birds. Seth Posted April 19, 2023 Posted April 19, 2023 That's a good bird! We've had a good turkey season so far. During the youth season, Dad and I each got our nephews on gobblers. Dad shot a gobbler Monday morning on the opener and my brother and I both got ours yesterday morning. There are still several gobblers around too so chances of filling both tags is actually looking good this year. The gobbler numbers have been low on the properties that we hunt the past three years and it has made for some tough turkey hunting. I've only managed to harvest one bird over the past two seasons. I had filled both tags for a decade straight prior to that. Lots of fried turkey breast, carnitas and pot pies in our future! nomolites, ness, BilletHead and 3 others 6
