For the first time all year I have put my afternoon walks on hold.  If the predictors are right, we have a nice cold front coming in Monday.

I've put my morning walks on hold--considering the heat wasn't that bad, upper 70s but with 99 percent humidity, it's something I don't need to do. My phone said the heat index the other evening was 122.  I'm thinking a move to Alaska might be a good thing.

I get mine in earlier than normal but sans my usual sweat vest.

Don’t forget electrolytes.  Magnesium and potassium supplements help a lot.

I must confess I did walk a mile yesterday around 2 PM, a few clouds and some breeze and it wasn't too bad.

I always felt like the odd man out, but prefer working in the late morning/early afternoon in the summer.

It's always dead still and far more humid in the morning even if the temperature is a little lower, once the sun burns that humidity off a little and the breeze picks up some I find it to be a little bit more bearable.

There is a stone quarry just down the road from me. A buddy of mine is a part owner, and has hired us to build a few buildings over the years. We have been there this week building a shop. Normally i do my 10 hours “6am to 4pm” with no issues, but with OSHA running around we have to wear long pants, long shirts, steel toe boots, and a hard hat.   Normally I’m in shorts, light colored t-shirt and shoes.  Putting the metal on the roof this week had been brutal. The temp alone is nasty, but that glare in the face when bending over screwing it down is yuck.

Today we jumped down to Sparta and dug holes for a 3000sq. ft. wrap around deck.   Last month i built a 20’ x 82’ dock “pier” on his 30 acre lake, so i took 30 minutes today and fished off of that dock.  Caught 14 bass and 2 crappie.
