Just as an experiment we should all be thrown out of our homes, removed of our assets and totally abandoned.....Just to see how quickly we can rebound.

The problem is not with the people that are trying to rebound. The real problem are the ones that refuse to do it no matter how many people help them. I have a very close relationship to a couch surfer. He's not trying to rebound. He's always scamming to get ahead but rather than get a real job he's just trying to "trade" his way into retirement. He's been doing this since he was 18 and he's getting close to 50 now. I think it was last week that my wife had to pick him up at 2:00am because he was evicted from his current couch. That won't happen again. You can give him money and try to help him out but he will do something stupid. Buy a car "that just needs a battery", next thing you know it needs rings and head gaskets, and if you give him the money for that he'll take it to one of the local Ghetto Vegas locations to "double-up" and leave there with barely enough money to get some decent fentanyl and still be walking.

Some people just aren't intelligent enough to rebound. Or just try in general.

If I were one of those guys I think I'd try to break into a bank or something.

If I succeeded, I'd be set.   If not then I'd have a place to sleep, shower, and get fed daily.

Either way I'm better off than I was.  And my conscience would be clear because I never physically harmed anyone.

Wouldn't being in jail/prison be better than living on the streets in January?   Plus, the way jail/prison is NOW you'd likely even get to have sex with the gender of your choice occasionally.

The opportunity still looms largely. I feel it would be best but I might be the only one that sees that. The other option is death. I fear that one of those is coming up fast. It’s sad when no amount of love or money can protect someone. I love to help people that need it but if you refuse to help yourself then you lose me.

I feel ya brother.  My first wife & my oldest daughters mom is in the same boat.

Her best move is to commit a freakin' crime.  Seriously!    Credit card fraud or something similar would suffice.   She'd honestly be better off in prison.   Sadly her mom was a judge, so she knows exactly how to stay out of courtrooms.

Just about every town in Missouri has a homeless population it seems. Springfield used to be a very nice city with a great downtown going for it until not so long ago. I must admit, the last time my wife and I were in downtown for a concert I was really surprised at how out of hand it has become. My wife who doesn't get that paranoid asked me if I was carrying that night. She had never done that before when we have been out and about. She can spot a homeless person a mile away from the training on her job and she tells me Joplin isn't much better than Springfield when it comes to the homeless. Just more room for them to hide out in the bigger city. I know this is becoming a huge issue nationwide as well.

We're all 90 days from being homeless.

And now less than one generation from being a third world country….thanks to all the Biden voters. Fools!

Since the Soviet Union dissolved there are no Third World Countries.

Quote

The term "Third World" arose during the Cold War and it was used to define countries that remained non-aligned with either NATO or the Warsaw Pact. The United States, Canada and their allies represented the "First World", while the Soviet Union, China, Cuba, North Korea, Vietnam and their allies represented the "Second World". This terminology provided a way of broadly categorizing the nations of the Earth into three groups based on political divisions. Due to the complex history of evolving meanings and contexts, there is no clear or agreed-upon definition of the Third World.[1] Strictly speaking, "Third World" was a political, rather than economic, grouping.

Now I might believe you if you said we are a generation or two away from no longer being a country. We are fast becoming a member state of the world and giving up our identity as an independent nation. And that is no more on the Biden voters than it is on anyone who uses import goods.  Global trade will inevitably lead to global laws and result in global government.  "Peace on Earth"
