snagged in outlet 3 Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Cold never used to bother me. We used to camp every January Quarry Park every year. And I tell you some of those trips were COLD! The older I get the less I tolerate it. But then I feel like I’m missing out and might regret not going. Frozen boat ramps freak me out though. 😂 Quillback 1

Frozen boat ramps freak me out though. 😂 Be very careful on the Corps docks if they have frost on them. A few years ago I was launching my boat early one morning at one of the COE launches at Beaver. It was frosty out. A boat pulls up to the dock, they had been out night fishing for stripers with a guide. The guide gets out walks down the walkway, steps onto that flat metal piece that connects the dock to the bank, and his feet go straight out from him and BAM!, Frazier goes down! I was 2 feet away from him when it happened. He just laid there for a minute and got up and was OK. snagged in outlet 3 1

Having your truck and trailer sliding helplessly back down the ramp at Cooper Creek is something you never forget. My buddy is screaming at me to stop and look over at him and said “ I told you to wear a life vest”😂 Quillback and Terrierman 2

Just keep it as straight as possible and remember, it's not frozen from the water's edge on out, so eventually your brakes are going to stop you.

I picked up a battery powered heated vest a couple of months ago for cold weather golf and that thing is amazing. It's pretty thin and lightweight and is designed to be worn closer to the body than a traditional more bulky insulated winter vest. I usually put on a long sleeve mock neck, the vest and then whatever pullover, jacket, sweatshirt, you name it and I stay amazingly warm. Got it at Costco for $99 and then ordered a couple of spare batteries off of Amazon for around thirty bucks and I can stay pretty dang comfortable all day long. Each battery will last around four hours on medium which is plenty of heat. Even has a bluetooth feature whereby you can control the heat settings and monitor the state of charge of the battery with your phone. I don't fish much in the cold anymore but if I did I'd sure want this thing with me. Quillback and snagged in outlet 3 2 "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups." snagged in outlet 3 Posted January 6 Posted January 6 @vernon I get pop ups for those all the time on YouTube and instagram.
Quillback Posted January 6 Posted January 6 Can you buy something like a full body spacesuit that is heated? For $99? That's what I would've needed the other day.

I would think with all the rain you bring with you everywhere, you would be afraid to wear an electric suit grizwilson, TRRANGER, bfishn and 3 others 2 4

It might fry you like an overdone piece of Col. Sanders chicken. grizwilson, TRRANGER and Quillback 3
