Dutch Posted January 22 Share Posted January 22 I’ve used braid to leader off and on for a long time. I’ve used Albright, Alberto, and uni to uni just to name a few. Every single one of them has been prone to break at the knot no matter what size leader that I am using. The only exception to that is the FG. I’ve been using it for several months. Seth Posted January 22 Share Posted January 22 I tie my leaders on at home with the FG knot, but use the Alberto in the boat as it’s easier for me to tie. Dutch Posted January 23 Author Share Posted January 23 I’ve had 5 hand surgeries and am waiting on #6. I really like it but it took me quite a while to tie. So I decided to get the FG knot tool. The tool helped but I kept dropping the leader tag end and I had trouble serving the knot so I made a couple of gizmos to take care of those issues. No it just takes a few minutes to tie it.
