BilletHead Posted March 8 Posted March 8 This rain is what we needed. From just over 1.5 foot at the gauge in Waco to just under 5.5 foot and still rising. It will turn things up a notch. @curtisce and I went and launched at twin bridges Wednesday and made the run up all the way to 10 working various depths and places. I threw the fly rod and curt spinning. Third cast of the day I caught a three-pound channel cat on a pink over white clouser. Later on, curt caught three dinky whites. Lots of boats and fisherman. No one was tearing them up. A few that fished the day before said it was much better. Curt was watching his live scope and he could see fish checking out his lure but not committing. I blind casted and listened to curt say there is a bunch here or there but wind out of the east not much going on. It was nice getting out though. Curt brought along his Minatare Australian Shepard Foster. He kept things lively. I like Foster and he and I shared snacks with him all day long. I did not try his goodies but know he liked mine🙂. ollie Posted March 8 Posted March 8 The black vultures are out of control down at the Twin ramp from what I was told. Some guy had his windshield wipers torn off by them and some of the rubber seals around the windows. The one hanging in effigy is what MDC is recommending people do when they encounter them. Doesn't look like it is working too well from the pic. Fishing will only get better as it warms up down there. I might go next week, but doubtful on this week. Good report. jdmidwest Posted March 9 Posted March 9 Air Rifle could do the trick. If you cripple one, do the others pounce in and finish it off? That would be a fun game. I always cripple the first crow and let it bounce around where it can't fly. Drives the others nuts and makes them stupid. snagged in outlet 3 1 "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson

Crows are not the only animal that does that gang mentality. turkeys do it, chickens do it, heck I have even seen it here on the forums. 🙄 WoundedOne 1 "We have met the enemy and it is us", Pogo If you compete with your fellow anglers, you become their competitor, If you help them you become their friend" Lefty Kreh " Never display your knowledge, you only share it" Lefty Kreh "Eat more bass and there will be more room for walleye to grow!" Those hanging upside down Black vulture decoys are made out of tires. They are all over the parking lot and along the dock hanging. I knew you all would get a kick out of it. Sure'nuff! 😊 My favorite thing about air-gunning squirrels is if there's 2-3 in a tree, and you pick one off.....the others just look down at him as if to say.... "What's wrong with that drunken bastard?" Then they go right back to doing whatever they were doing. Doesn't put them all into stealth mode like the crack of a .22 rifle does. 👌 I assume it would work the same way with those weatherstrip gobbling buzzards. 👍 I wonder how many spontaneous heart attacks, or sudden brain aneurysms you could initiate before the flock spooks and lifts off? 😉 snagged in outlet 3 1
